Ingredients

  • 2 cans (12.4 oz / 350 g each) refrigerated cinnamon rolls (reserve the icing)
  • 2 cups apple pie filling, chopped into bite-size pieces
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg (optional)
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Optional Topping

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • ¼ cup chopped pecans or walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch or 9×9-inch baking dish.
  2. Cut each cinnamon roll into 4 pieces and place them in the baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, mix the apple pie filling, cinnamon, nutmeg, melted butter, and vanilla.
  4. Spoon the apple mixture over the cinnamon roll pieces and gently toss to combine.
  5. Sprinkle with brown sugar and chopped pecans, if using.
  6. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the cinnamon rolls are golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Let cool for 5 minutes.
  8. Warm the reserved icing for a few seconds in the microwave, then drizzle it generously over the warm bake.
