Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 2 cups water
- ½ cup dried hibiscus flowers
- 1½ cups granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
- 1 tsp grated fresh ginger (optional, for extra flavor)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the water and dried hibiscus flowers.
- Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 8–10 minutes.
- Remove from the heat and strain out the hibiscus flowers.
- Return the hibiscus tea to the saucepan and add the sliced strawberries.
- Simmer for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the strawberries are soft.
- Mash the strawberries gently with the back of a spoon.
- Add the sugar and stir until completely dissolved.

- Simmer for another 2–3 minutes, then remove from the heat.
